Our tented weddings include a hors d’oeuvres package, champagne toast, three food stations and a wedding cake made by Frederick’s Pastries for $56.00 per person. Our tented wedding facilities can accommodate up to 200 guests. We offer three acres of private gardens alongside a waterfall fountain granite quarry, bathroom cottage including a handicap bathroom and a small vanity room. The Mile Away venue setting includes:

  • Three acres of gardens, patios and granite quarry with water fountain

  • Stone pathway and flower gardens with arbor for outdoor ceremonies

  • 4,000 square foot white Century Tent with Arbor Window Sidewalls

  • 1,600 square foot ceremony tent for inclement weather

  • Bathroom cottage with small vanity room

  • Antique Hutch and full built-in bar

  • Artificial turf flooring

  • Wood parquet dance floor

The Mile Away was FANTASTIC. We had our ceremony and reception at this venue. Originally we were going to have the ceremony outside in their gardens but sadly Mother Nature wasn’t with us. Not to worry, they set up a gorgeous floral arbor under the tent and we went through the ceremony without a problem. For not having rehearsed having the ceremony under the tent the staff were very professional and took care of everything. Later on in the day the rain parted and then guests were able to go out and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Flowers were in full bloom, lawn was mowed, everything looked JUST beautiful. Service for food was great and the food itself was fantastic, I heard zero complaints. I highly recommend!!
Don’t pass up on this place! A little over a month after our wedding, my husband and I are still getting lots of positive feedback from our wedding guests (both family and friends.) We are still amazed by how smoothly and how beautiful everything was at the Mile Away to make our day utterly perfect! If considering this location, you must see for yourself in person. Though their pictures and marketing are great, nothing truly captures the lovely venue unless you see it in person. My husband and I planned our wedding from Pittsburgh without a hitch. Since the restaurant and venue is a family owned business, we worked with all of the members of the Murphy family. They were all attentive, responsive and helpful. Sandy (who was our point person the day of) went above and beyond to make all of our guests comfortable and enjoy themselves. Staff worked seamlessly with our photographer and DJ. Sandy and the other staff’s thoughtful approach to our wedding is truly what makes the Mile Away an exceptional place to have your wedding. On top of the beauty and the attentive staff, the food was phenomenal. Our pickiest eaters loved it, as did our “foodie” friends. We had guests from Ohio who were “blown away” by the Mile Away and some of our local guests have since returned to dine at the restaurant after attending our wedding. ( I don’t think that is something that most venues experience!)
Best. Venue. Ever. From the very start, Josh and Sandy Murphy made my wedding experience at Mile Away special and easy! We had three meetings- one for our initial viewing, one to pick our meals/figure out the plan, and last at the rehearsal to make sure everything ran perfectly. Josh was always available by email and answered promptly. I could stop by to drop things off and had access to unlimited site visits. Everything was so laid back. The package I chose included a Saturday night complete use of the grounds (no fighting w/ other weddings). The restaurant was open during my wedding but it didn’t effect us. It also includes a champagne toast, three-tier cake made by Fredrick’s pastries and buffet food (which was amazing). I brought all my nonperishable decorations for the rehearsal dinner and Sandy magically set up everything exactly how I wanted after just one conversation. Remarkable! During the wedding, Sandy made sure my groom and I had drinks and food, or anything else we could possibly need. They are pros and their expertise made the wedding absolutely stress free!

Tent Facility Fees

Our tent facility fee is priced by the day of the week and includes use of our 4,000 square foot tent, round tables, white wooden padded chairs, white linens, lighting, heaters, fans, dance floor, side walls and all tableware, glassware, gift table and more.

Time Frame: The length of a tented weddings is 5 1/2 hours if the ceremony is held on the property. If guests are arriving from an off-site ceremony, the length of the wedding is 5 hours. We host one tented wedding per day and the timeframe is the couple’s choice. On Fridays and Saturdays evenings, weddings must end by 11 pm. Sunday weddings must end by 9 p.m.

Tented facilities fees:

• $375 – Wedding Ceremony
• $2,350 ($2,600 Holidays)- Tent facility charge for Sunday weddings
• $2,750 – Tent facility charge for Friday weddings
• $3,950 – Tent facility charge for Saturday weddings

Our full service bar is available for your wedding reception. There is a $300.00 charge for bartenders for a cash bar. We waive the bartender fee if there is an open bar of $1000.00 or more during your event. All open bars have 20% gratuity added to the total.

The Mile Away requires a $2,500 nonrefundable deposit booking fee. Final wedding guest numbers are due 2 weeks before your reception. The final bill is due one week prior to your wedding.
